UNLIMITED Golf With Cart At Lyon's Den For $20

Check out the Lyon's Den Golf Course coupon that arrived in my email today from iShopStark.com...

Golf is a luxury that may be beyond the reach of many people in today's economy.

Lyon's Den in Canal Fulton has stepped up to offer a special that makes golf much more affordable; which is a good move, I'd say, when the golf industry overall has been in a downturn for several years.

Check this out, you can play unlimited rounds of golf, including use of a cart, for $19.95 as long as you tee off prior to 2 p.m. on any weekday!

Not only that, you can hit the Lyon's Den snack bar to have a sandwich and a fountain drink with no extra charge!!

While you can use this coupon any weekday it's best not to go out on Tuesdays if you're planning to play much because that's the day Lyon's Den has league play...starting at 4 p.m.

The news gets even better, Lyon's Den is offering this special for the remainder of 2009!

You can download a coupon from iShopStark.com or just print out this post and redeem the coupon.

If you need directions to Lyon's Den check you can get them at MapQuest. (Click for the directions)

A Bad Year For Tulip Trees In Stark County

2009 hasn't been a good year for tulip trees here in Stark County. In little more than a week the trees blossomed and most of the flowers are now almost gone.

The weather certainly look it's tool on the trees, a few days of rain really beat up the blossoms.

It didn't do anything to help get shots of the trees either, on the days it wasn't raining more often than not it was cloudy. So it goes, eh.

More than the weather, though, it was bad luck with people who have trees in their yard that hurt the one day I got out to shoot them.

Most of the people weren't home when I went to knock on their door; you see I don't walk into anyone's yard without permission. Of the three people who answered, only one said yes.

So, you understand, I know these aren't the best shots of tulip trees, but it's the best I could do this year.

There are other trees in bloom, ones that aren't as as fragil as the tulip. I'm planning to get out this week to do more shooting, hopefully I'll have better luck with those and other that are just starting to blossom.

At least this is a good way to celebrate Arbor Day here in the blogosphere, even if it is a couple days late.

Attract New Visitors To Your Blog With MyBlogDirectory.net

Is your blog listed at MyBlogDirectory.net?

I'm adding my blogs to MyBlogDirectory.net because you have a greater chance of getting traffic than in other directories. In fact, it's one of the few where you don't have an advantage over those who join after you.

What makes MyBlogDirectory.net a unique blog directory is that it's never the same twice.

Blogs are listed randomly in 13 different categories which are ever changing. Literally, every time you refresh a page of the directory the order of the blogs is shuffled.

Another unique feature is the benefit that you get from driving traffic to the directory. The blog that sends the highest number of unique visitors is featured on the front page as the Blog Of The Day.

William McKinley Presidential Library and Museum & The McKinley Monument Are In Need Of Public Support

Stark County is unique because it's the only location in the nation that's the home of both a professional sports hall of fame and a Presidential library and museum.

Drive along Interstate Route 77 and you pass two of the most prominent buildings in Canton; the Professional Football Hall of Fame, not more than a stone's throw from the highway, to the west, and to the east, off in the distance, not far from downtown, the McKinley Monument.

Another thing the two share, I suspect, is that many Stark County residents are likely not to have visited either one or both of the attractions.

I learned recently that the William McKinley Presidential Library and Museum and the adjacent McKinley Monument are facing a significant financial challenge.

Both are dependent on donations from individuals and grants from foundations to fund operations and maintenance. They do not receive financial support from the local, the state or the federal government.

Around September a shortage of funds required both the Presidential Library and Museum and the McKinley Monument to start closing one hour earlier each day.

To address these issues the Presidential Library and Museum is conducting a $4 million capital campaign.

I shot the photos in this post in mid-September as a way to support this effort. I'm working on arranging interviews to write an article on the library/museum and another on the capital campaign.

The Vanity Of It All

How often do vanity license plates make you smile, shake your head or wonder what the person was thinking?

Don't keep that thought to yourself. Snap a picture and share the plate in the vanity license plate collection, The Vanity Of It All.

It's easy to play along. You don't need to say where you shot the picture or what you think the meaning behind the plate is. Simply shoot the picture and send it in.

If you're involved in any social media websites I'd appreciate you helping spread the word.
